A 26-year-old Mozambican national was arrested on a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle and detained.

“The vehicle, a Toyota GD-6, was fitted with false registration plates. Further inspection revealed that certain interior components had been removed, possibly in preparation for disabling a tracking device,” said Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, a police spokesperson.

The recovered vehicle was taken to the Vehicle Identification Section for safekeeping and further forensic investigation.
