IN PHOTOS: Ehlanzeni District celebrates women in style

The speakers discussed issues such as finances, law and health.

Ehlanzeni District Municipality held a Women’s Day celebration on Wednesday August 10 at the Disaster Management Centre.

The event was celebrated under the theme of ‘high tea’. The women dressed up according to the theme.
Various speakers gave presentations on issues affecting women.

Every year in August the country celebrates Women’s Month and pays tribute to the more than 20 000 women who marched to the Union Buildings on August 9, 1956 in protest against the extension of pass laws to women.
This year it was celebrated under the theme: ‘Women’s socio-economic rights and empowerment – building back better for women’s improved resilience’.
