Pienaar entrepreneur imparts knowledge to young community girls

Zoliswa Mlombo is an advocate for women and community empowerment.

A young woman, born and bred in the busy streets of the fast-growing community in Nsikazi, has her eyes on the prize of becoming one of the best fashion designers and entrepreneurs to have ever come out of Pienaar.

Many may know Zoliswa Mlombo as the second runner-up for Miss Mpumalanga 2022. She is an advocate for women and community empowerment through her organisation, Miss Pienaar.

“I founded Miss Pienaar in 2018 and I have seen a lot of young girls being empowered through the organisation. Pageants are no longer just about beauty. More than anything, organisations like Miss Pienaar are platforms that take pride in uplifting, honing and nurturing young girls’ skills by connecting them to unlimited opportunities available through our network of partners,” Mlombo said.

The experience that she gained during Miss Mpumalanga competition, has influenced her character and she plans to pass it on to the Miss Pienaar participants.

“I entered six times for Miss Mpumalanga. From the first entry to the last one, the process had shaped my character and how I view life. I have found that preparation is important in anything and I want to instil that into every young girl I come across. I had the chance to meet a lot of people who are willing to help me grow my brand and the knowledge should be passed on,” she said.

“I want to involve the community in everything I do. I believe that my ventures should benefit the people in my community so that they are uplifted and empowered.”
