Mbombela innovator creates new programme suitable for learners

Penwell Silinda, the Smart D app developer, plans to visit schools to teach learners about Smart-D Tutor that will help them achieve better pass rate results.

Smart-D Tutor is an artificial intelligence powered chatbot designed to provide endless answers to questions asked by users on various topics.
The developer of the Smart-D app, Penwell Silinda, said it is an invaluable resource for learners, students, researchers and anyone who wants quick and easy answers.

“It is a versatile chatbot with answers on general knowledge, geography, history, science technology, literature and entertainment. Users simply type in their questions in natural language and the chatbot will provide the answers. It is available 24/7. Users can add the number 064 504 3440 to their contacts and send a text or question through WhatsApp,” Silinda said.

He said he aims to reach a wide audience, especially the youth who can benefit from the tutoring services it offers in academics and other areas of interest.

“The Smart-D team is excited and proud of this innovation, as it demonstrates the potential of technology in revolutionising education.
“We believe this can provide personalised and effective learning experiences for students. With our target of helping Grade 12s achieve a pass rate of 80% or higher, we hope to make a significant impact on their academic success.”
