Bubbly Mpumalangan represents the province in Big Brother Mzansi season 5

Siphesihle Mabaso is competing against the 23 other contestants for the R2m prize.

The fifth season of one of South Africa’s most-watched real-time TV shows, Big Brother Mzansi (BBMzansi), has premiered.

This year features a Mpumalangan, Siphesihle Mabaso (28), who is determined to win the prize money of R2m.

Mabaso is a financial advisor and lives in Secunda. She is also a singer, model and a brand ambassador.

In her BBMzansi profile, she described herself as go-getter with a silver tongue who truly embraces the phrase ‘don’t limit yourself’.

She will be cooped up in the BBMzansi house with 23 housemates for more than three months starting Sunday, January 12.

There will be plot twists like every season of BBMzansi – six more housemates will soon join.

This season of the show will continue to showcase the lives of ordinary South Africans as they navigate challenges, alliances and evictions, with the winner being crowned based on public votes.

Many people from the Place of the Rising Sun wished Mabaso a great experience in the house via various social media platforms and for her to win the ultimate prize.

Mpumalangans have participated more on these national platforms in the last few years than before. One success story is Mishack Mazibuko’s, affectionately known as ‘Mich’ from Mbombela.

He claimed his spot in the entertainment industry after being eliminated from the BBMzansi competition in 2024. He is one of the country’s most renowned MCs, a social media influencer and a brand ambassador.
