Driekoppies muso to enrich talent across the province
The hip-hop artist said his dream is for his hub to be a centre of excellence for creative talents in South Africa.
A young man from Driekoppies has launched an initiative called the Future Youth Hub to provide a recreational space for young people who are interested in the arts to expand their skills.
Lindokuhle Shabangu (30) aims to unearth the potential of young stars through the initiative, inspired by his own experience as an up-and-coming hip-hop artist.
Shabangu said the main goal of his hub is to provide access to creative tools and exposure to platforms like music, fashion, performance and photography so that the youngsters can discover their hidden abilities and use them to build a successful career for themselves.
Dedicated young creatives are guided towards entrepreneurship and introduced to online sales, event production and brand collaboration.

“We do workshops, mentorship programmes and events that showcase their work to the world. We also run personal development sessions to build their characters above skills development. Creativity is the new economy and the province has a lot of creative energy that needs to be unfolded.
A lack of access to opportunities has caused many to lose faith in themselves,” he said.

His dream is for the hub to be a centre of excellence for emerging artists in South Africa – and a place where the best creators are bred.
“I want my initiative to be a safe space where dreams are never left behind,” said Shabangu.
