Our view

My forewarning don't take the electorate for a ride, as they stand to decide your fate in the elections.

We experience interesting developments on the political platform nowadays, with organisations more than willing to give to the communities instead of slating one another for buying votes through charitable initiatives.

At the end of the day, you cannot expect the electorate to duly vote for you if you cannot give them anything, let alone matters of governance.
But what matters most in their livelihoods are which counts among houses, food and clothing.

We’ve heard on numerous occasions of opposition parties slating the ruling one for buying votes through charity. It has ruled the roost in that department for the past 20 years and has kept a blind eye to the oppositions’ outcries throughout the years.
The opposition have had a rethink on their strategies and thought; if you can’t beat them, join them.
Yes, they’ve come to the party. Over the weekend the DA’s bigwigs, Lindiwe Mazibuko, Mmusi Maimane, Anthony Benadie and James Masango celebrated Freedom Day in style in Bushbuckridge handing over a newly constructed crèche to the community of Boikhutso Village.

That’s a commendable gesture indeed. On the other hand, the ruling party delivered more than 300 houses in and around Piet Retief. Another commendable gesture from the politicians who have seen it fit that people’s surroundings need to be developed and improved for the better.
At least now that we have exactly six days before the general elections, the organisations are going head to head towards the winning line, all armed with their manifestos and willing hearts to give to the communities.
Our view is that willingness should be sustained throughout the next five years of whoever’s term in office and should not wane after receiving the much-needed votes from the electorate.

My forewarning don’t take the electorate for a ride, as they stand to decide your fate in the elections.
Let’s pray that everything goes according to all organisations, but there can only be one winner, and that one needs all of their full cooperation in order to govern smoothly.
