Offenders athletics champions coming soon

The competition aims to provide the youth and adult offenders an opportunity to compete at national level in athletics.

MBOMBELA- The department of Correctional Services will be hosting the National  Offender Athletics championships in Rustenburg, North West before the end of  February.

According to Mr Moses Nkabinde spokesperson for the department the
competition aims to provide  the youth and adult offenders an opportunity to compete at national level in athletics.

“Five hundred and four (504) offenders from six regions namely, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West, Gauteng, Free State and
Northern Cape, Kwa-Zulu Natal, Western Cape and Eastern Cape will be
participating in thirteen track and field activities under the theme ‘effective
rehabilitation helps break the cycle of crime for our safety’, ” explained
Nkabinde.

The Regional Commissioner of Limpopo, Mpumalanga and North West, Mr  Alfred Tsetsane wishes to invite members of the community to celebrate 20 years  of democracy witnessing the work done by the Department of Correctional Services  in rehabilitating offenders.
