NELSPRUIT – The former head of the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison reappeared in court here yesterday. Mr Thulani Sibuyi faces charges of fraud and corruption.
Following his arrest for alleged drunken driving in Kempton Park, Gauteng on October 6, Sibuyi resigned as HOD. Lowvelder recently reported that Sibuyi is being implicated in fraud and corruption totalling a whopping R7 billion.
He was apprehended in connection with the matter while in the department’s employ in August and was released on bail of R50 000. Along with Sibuyi, Mr Vusi Mashaba, owner of GNT Security, was also arrested.
