Thekwane North’s community outcry
Our children walk many kilometres to attend school in Pienaar, Msogwaba and some as far as KaNyamazane
We, as the community of Thekwane North have a bitter complaint regarding the conditions we live in.
Firstly, we lack many services in our area. We have no police station in our vicinity and only depend on the Pienaar Police Station, which is a long distance away. Another big problem is that we don’t have a school despite the MEC for education, Ms Reginah Mhaule’s announcement that there would be schools built and ready for next year. We have been omitted from those plans.
Our children walk many kilometres to attend school in Pienaar, Msogwaba and some as far as KaNyamazane. It’s a problem because there is no transport for them. They risk being mugged along the way and also being run over by vehicles.
Our plea to the authorities is to be considered for development, because we are voters, and incidentally we voted for the ruling party, but it does not regard us when it comes to development. It’s even worse still with our roads which are never maintained. There are no credible shops. We only rely on spaza shops which are expensive.
Can we please have a positve response from the authorities concerned?
