MEC applauds Idols winner

MBOMBELA – Culture, Sport and Recreation MEC, Ms Sibongile Manana joins the multitude of music fans in congratulating Musa “The Voice” Sukwene for winning Season 9 of Idols SA.
“Musa Sukwene has made Mpumalanga proud and his feat has put the province on the musical map,” says Manana also expressing her gratitude to all those who voted Sukwene to title of one of South Africa’s biggest reality TV shows.
Sukwene created history by becoming the first Mpumalanga citizen to win Idols and the second African to win the singing competition. He was in the finals with another equally talented Mpumalanga lad, Brenden Ledwaba who came second. “We also congratulate Ledwaba for showing that indeed there is immense talent in our province and the biggest winner on the night was without doubt Mpumalanga,” said MEC Manana.
The Voice, as Musa is known in musical circles, wowed viewers with songs such Ngiyagodola, Sexual Healing, I Can’t Stay and Via Orlando which got him standing ovations and ultimately the competition.
“He was consistent throughout the competition and his vocal prowess impressed the judges and fans alike, added the MEC.
She concluded, “Let us hope the exploits of The Voice will inspire others to emulate him in the seasons to come.”
