The organisers of Crowning Miss Mpumalanga, Mzimari Productions, have finally announced the top 12 finalists of the 2014 Crowning Miss Mpumalanga who will be vying for the coveted crown at the newly-refurbished Emntoweni Arena on Saturday April 12, 2014. You, the public, friends and families of the finalists are invited to take advantage of the opportunity of voting for Miss Photogenic among the 12 finalists in a competition which is run in conjunction with media sponsors, Mpumalanga News and Lowveld Media and principal sponsors, Mpumalanga Gambling Board (MGB) and Mzimari Productions.
The Miss Photogenic SMS competition will run from today until Thursday April 10, 2014 and the winner will be announced on the crowning evening at the Emnotweni Arena on April 12, 2014. SMS the first name of the finalist/contestant of your choice to 35954. The contestant with the most votes will be crowned as Miss Photogenic.
Please ensure that you spell her name correctly. An SMS costs R1,50. You may vote as many times as you like. Terms and conditions apply. Each of the 12 finalists will be profiled in the weeks leading up to the event.
Cassandra Steingo is a 22 year-old from Nelspruit. She is currently studying Psychology through Unisa. I studied dramatic arts up until matric hence my love performace art,” she says.
Cathrine Mapule Ledwaba (24) From Luthuli, KwaMhlanga. She is currently studying BA communication Science with the University Of South Africa.
“I’m a philanthropist, ambitious and a go-getter, if there’s something I desire, I work extra hard to achieve it!
I’m the co-founder of Beauty with a purpose T&M, a charity project that was founded in 2012 by Thamsanqa Mhlanga and Mapule Ledwaba,” she says.
Natasha Dos Santos is a 22 year-old from Kanyamazane. She is currently working currently working as a national presenter and also as photographer and video journalist, while also studying Public Relations at Boston City Campus.
Lungelo Mbokodo 21 year-old from Mkhuhlu. She is currently in her fourth year (Hons) studying psychology at the University of Limpopo. “My hobbies are dancing, bowling ,baking and playing tennis. In the next 5 years I want to see myself as a professional Psychologist,” she says.
Kholofelo Talane is a 20 year-old from KwaMhlanga. She is a first year student studying project management at Oxbridge academy. “My personal strength includes determination, generosity and always striving to achieve a very high standard in whatever is undertaken,” she says.
Amanda Penelope Jele (19) from Sabie, Thaba Chweu. She is currently a Management Student at the Vaal University of Technology.
“I entered Miss Mpumalanga 2014, because I wish to achieve three goals, which are to learn from the Miss Mpumalanga team in every way possible, to inspire and encourage young people in the province and to empower other young girls,” she says.
Thandi Mthombeni is a 19 yearold from Kwamhlanga. She matriculated last year and has applied with AFDA (Film school) as she wants to pursue a career in film and television.
Sibahle Thandeka Mndebele, is a 22 year-old Kanyamazane. She recently completed her Diploma in Legal Assistance (Paralegal) at Tshwane University of Technology.
Nomcebo Vilakazi is a 19 year-old from Middelburg. She is currently studying B ed Intermediate Phase (2nd year) at South African National Tutor Services. “I chose to invest in my studies as a teacher because it is the basis to all other professions. I have a desire of sustaining, develop, build and elevate my community, being a teacher is the most influential way to contribute towards building a better generation for South Africa as a whole,” she says.
Thato Matsie Thato Matsie is a 22 year-old bushbuckridge. She is currently studying Somatology at hydro international college.
Valentia Bouwer is a 20 year-old from Volkrust. She is currently studying through UNISA for her Bed intermediate and senior phase. “I am the first woman of colour to be offered a position at Hoërskool Volksrust High School as a student teacher. Teaching is one of my passions there is nothing as heart warming as standing in front of learners who are more than willing to learn and acknowledge absolutely everything you teach them,” she says.
Zinzi Precious Mashego, (23) from Masana Village, Bushbuckridge. She is a graduate in Media Studies and have recently obtained a flight attendant’s license at EPT Aviation.
“Modeling has always been my first interest and I have built and maintained my modeling experience to the best of my ability.
I entered Miss Mpumalanga to pursue to my childhood dream to be a model and an ambassador for my beautiful province,” she says.
