Scheepers to face McHale on Tuesday
South African tennis player Channelle Scheepers will attempt to reach the second round of the Ladies Singles tournament at Wimbledon on Tuesday when she faces American Christina McHale.
The pair is scheduled to meet in the first round in the final match of the day on Court 10.
Scheepers has been knocked out in the first round of Wimbledon on each of the four occasions she has entered the tournament.
Should she manage to defeat McHale, the South African is likely to come up against Serena Williams in the second round.
Five-time Wimbledon champion and number one seed Williams faces unseeded fellow American Anna Tatishvili and is expected to cruise through to the second round.
Scheepers and McHale have met twice before, with each player recording one victory. This will be their first meeting on grass.
