Through the grapevine: Dress for comfort, not to impress

Does not sticking to the theme at an event change the price of rice or fuel?

What a way to end September! Mbombela was alive last weekend and the weather was also favourable.

The highlight was the All White Affair with locals mingling with celebs and looking all fresh and dapper. And of course we spotted our Versace lovers wandering around looking like wizards.

Anyway, we would like to point out that D’banj did no justice on stage shwem. Gqom artists would have killed it but Cassper Nyovest was one of the best performers. Even though the attendance was poor, fun was had. But it did not make sense to have the likes of Chrizozo and others go on stage after midnight.

And then we came across grown men carrying Gucci backpacks in the VIP section on Sunday. Did we miss something perhaps? New trend maybe? Wonder what they had inside… In all honesty, some really looked ridiculous despite sticking to the theme.

Speaking of themes, some may have not looked like angels in white including Sjava and Khanyi Mbau and there is absolutely nothing wrong. Does it change the price of rice or fuel? We don’t think so! Sibiziwe, safika, sajaiva and that is all that matters unless the organisers had set strict rules on the dress code.

Anyway, the weekend was lit, thanks to Josta and his team. Boycotters or not, you pulled it off! Have a great weekend and remember to never dress to impress but for comfort.

May the force be with you!
