61 927 people now infected with Covid-19
Men and woman are roughly equally affected with men making up 50.5 percent of those who have passed away, and women making up 49.3 percent of those who have passed away. 0.2 percent remains unknown at this stage.

The total number of people infected with Covid-19 is now 61 927. The number of tests conducted has reached 1 060 425, and the number of recoveries is at 35 008, at a rate of 56.5 percent.
The number of deaths in the past 24 hours rose by 70 to reach a total of 1 354. 39 of these were in the Western Cape, 30 in the Eastern Cape and 1 in Limpopo. The total mortality rate for Covid-19 in South Africa is 2.2 percent.

The age category most affected by Covid-19 deaths remains the 60 – 69 age group who make up 27.2 percent of the deaths, followed by the 50 – 59 age group which makes up 24.1 percent of the deaths and the 70 – 79 age group which makes up 17.7 percent of the deaths.
