Murdered Ladysmith taxi official received death threats, says Sizwe chairman

Ntshingila worked as a queue marshall at the rank

Following the murder of a Sizwe Taxi Association senior official, taxi association chairperson Mr Mpungose said the deceased had received death threats in the lead-up to the shooting, Northern Natal News reports.

Mr Ntshingila, who worked as a queue marshall at the rank, was gunned down yesterday at the taxi rank commonly known as ‘Johannesburg taxi rank’ in the Ladysmith CBD.

“Ntshingila had been receiving phone calls that threatened his life for about two weeks prior to being killed. We will get to the bottom of this,” said Mpungose.
