Pedestrian accident leads to ambulance disaster in Centurion

Both pedestrians succumbed to their injuries and were declared dead on the scene.

Two people were killed after being struck by a vehicle on the N14 in Centurion on Thursday evening.
Ruan Heyns of CERT-SA said their medics were called to the scene following two accidents in the same area.
In the first accident, two pedestrians were struck by a car.
The second accident involved another car and an ambulance that arrived to treat the pedestrians. The two vehicles collided.
“On our arrival, it was found that a vehicle and a Tshwane metro ambulance had collided. The ambulance personnel was attending to two people injured in the first accident,” Heyns said.
“Sadly, both pedestrians succumbed to their injuries and were declared dead on the scene.”
He said that the ambulance personnel escaped the incident without injuries.
