Helicopter airlifts Ermelo one-year-old to private hospital in Johannesburg

Isabella needs specialised care, but there weren't any beds available at any of the government hospitals in Ermelo.

The Stark family today had to face the somber realism of their child being in a critical condition in the Ermelo Provincial Hospital.

There is, however, a glimmer of hope as enough funds were raised to airlift baby Isabella to Netcare Garden City Hospital in Johannesburg.

This, after she choked on her food earlier today, September 13.

The family carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation and rushed her to the hospital where she was put on a ventilator.

She was, however, starved of oxygen for nearly 20 minutes at which time she also went into cardiac arrest.

At the hospital, doctors managed to resuscitate her again.

The family does not have medical aid, and further expenses are expected.

A trust account has therefore been created for Isabella’s medical expenses by Pas Attorneys.
