Large retail pharmacy employees in Krugersdorp arrested for selling vaccination cards
Four employees from a Dis-Chem branch in Krugersdorp have been caught trying to sell Covid-19 vaccination certificates.

Four employees from Dis-Chem in Krugersdorp appeared in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court on Monday, September 13 for fraud.
This after an investigation led to the discovery of a Covid-19 vaccination certificate being sold.
Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane said in a statement that they were investigating a case of fraud after two men and two women were arrested at about 14:50 on Friday, September 10.
He explained that the complaint came from Dis-Chem’s Head Office, which had commissioned an investigation into discrepancies at a vaccination site at Dis-Chem in President Square, Krugersdorp.
The person complained that after he had received his second vaccination he asked for a new vaccination card because he had lost his, but he was charged R100 for a new one.
“Internal investigations led to three other suspects. The police were called, and the suspects were arrested and detained at the Krugersdorp Police cells.”
The four suspects were between the ages of 19 and 36.
Krugersdorp News reached out to Dis-Chem head office and Jennifer Stein responded. “Dis-Chem Pharmacies is aware of an isolated incident of fraudulent vaccination cards issued at the Dis-Chem Krugersdorp President Square vaccination site.
“Dis-Chem does not tolerate any fraudulent or dishonest activity, and the company’s swift and decisive action following its direct involvement in apprehending the culprits resulted in criminal charges being laid against the perpetrators, all of whom were temporary staff members.”
The Krugersdorp Police warned the community to refrain from buying the vaccination cards, and anyone with information about such activity can contact the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151, use the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, or the My SAPS app, or send a SMS to 32211.
