Domestic worker stabbed to death in Malvern

Saps positively identified the murdered domestic worker as 43-year-old Mabusi Mlambo.

A Malvern homeowner found her domestic worker’s body in the laundry room on Tuesday, October 26.

According to the communications officer at Malvern SAPS, Sgt Sthembile Kheswa, the homeowner noticed that the garage door was half open and, when she made her way to the back of the house, found her domestic worker’s purse in the yard.

“She then called out for her domestic worker, but could not find her. She noticed the laundry room door, which is outside, was locked. When she unlocked the door, she noticed the domestic worker was lying in a pool of blood,” said Kheswa.

The deceased, Mabusi Mlambo (43), was stabbed multiple times in her front upper body. A few items were stolen from the home.

“Our team are working to apprehend the perpetrator(s). We promise the family that the investigation will be done properly to make sure whoever did this is sentenced,” said Kheswa.

The station’s commander, Lt Col Nokuthula Mthethwa urged all victims of knife violence to come forward.

“If we work together we can fight crime,” she added.
