Death of former AmaZulu regiment leader Mgilija
MEC Hlengiwe Mavimbela expresses her shock and sadness at Mgilija’s passing
Condolences continue to pour following the death of former leader of the AmaZulu regiments, Zihogozelanga ‘Mgilija’ Nhleko (72). He died on Monday evening (November 8) following a short illness.
KZN Arts, Culture, Sport and Recreation MEC, Hlengiwe Mavimbela, expressed her shock and sadness.
“We pass our sincere condolences to the family of Mgilija and the Amabutho at large.
“His leadership skills caught the attention of the country in March this year when he led regiments to pay tribute to the late King. He showed us that when given a leadership position, one must serve with honour and patriotism,” Mavimbela said.
Nhleko will also be remembered for being part of the delegation of regiments who accompanied the late King Goodwill Zwelithini Ka Bhekuzulu to the United Kingdom.
