Pretoria security officer’s partner appears in court on murder charges

Arthur Dobson from the Moot area in Pretoria died on Monday after paramedics found him with a stab wound to the chest at an accident scene.

A woman, accused of the murder of Brinant security officer Arthur Dobson (45), appeared in the Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Natasha Beyers (32), who was Dobson’s partner, was arrested by the Wonderboompoort police at the couple’s residence in Lambert Lee Street in Mayville at about 12:25 on Monday.

She faces murder charges as it is alleged that she stabbed her partner.

Magistrate Ashwin Ramnarain adjourned the case until February 21 for further investigation.

Beyers will remain in custody at the Kgosi Mampuru II correctional facility until her next appearance.

Dobson apparently died of a stab wound. He was found by paramedics after he was involved in a car accident.

According to Xander Loubser from Ambu-Link emergency medical services, Dobson lost consciousness while he was on his way to Life Eugene Marais hospital when he crashed into a pole on the corners of Fred Nicholson Street and Lambert Lee Avenue.

He was declared dead by Ambu-Link emergency medical services on scene. Dobson’s family did not attend the first court appearance.

At the time of Arthur’s death, he said the couple was renting a property where the alleged stabbing took place.

“We will not be attending court cases as we are emotionally not ready to face the accused.

“I am dead inside and Arthur’s mother is shattered by this.”

The father of four’s funeral will take place on Monday, February 21, at the Herlewingsentrum in Baan Street centre in Mayville. The service will be at 11:00.
