One killed in N1 crash in Limpopo

One person was killed in a head-on collision near the Kranskop Toll Plaza.

The N1 in Limpopo was closed temporarily on Friday after an accident in which one person was killed.

Transport media liaison officer Mike Maringa told Review Online that the collision occurred near the Kranskop Toll Plaza on the N1 north.

“One person was killed in the head-on collision which involved a SUV and a luxurious minibus. It is alleged that the driver of the minibus lost control of the vehicle and collided with the oncoming SUV,” he explained.

Maringa said the driver of the SUV was killed on impact. “Four people were rushed to the nearby hospital, and the road has now been opened for motorists travelling to Polokwane,” he concluded.
