Teenager one of two suspects arrested for Levubu farm murder

Mukhethwa Goodman Magoma (20) and Engetelo Advance Sambo (18) were arrested on April 21 at their homestead in Hasani village near Malamulele.

The two men who were arrested in connection with the murder of Louis and Ina Cloete will next appear in the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on May 11.

Mukhethwa Goodman Magoma (20) and Engetelo Advance Sambo (18) appeared before the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on April 25 on charges of murder (two counts), house robbery and arson.

The Cloete’s died after they were tied up and their farmhouse was set on fire during a house robbery on their Levubu farm near Louis Trichardt on April 20.

The National Prosecuting Authority’s regional spokesperson Mashudu Malabi Dzhangi said Magoma and Sambo were arrested on April 21 at their homestead in Hasani village near Malamulele.

“Police investigations revealed that the Cloetes were accosted by the suspects who attacked the farmhouse and took several items, including firearms, and loaded them into the family vehicle. They then set the house alight before leaving,” she said.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malesela Ledwaba said a manhunt continues for a third suspect and anyone with information is urged to contact the Investigating Officer, Captain Mashudu Lesley Muneri on 082 469 1260, the Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or the nearest police station.
