Cyclist dies after colliding with motorbike near Lydenburg

The cyclist was declared dead while the motorbike driver was transported to hospital.

A cyclist lost his life, and the driver of a motorbike sustained serious injuries after they collided on the R36 near Coromandel outside Lydenburg yesterday.

It is suspected that adverse weather and travelling conditions played a part in the cause of the accident. An eyewitness claimed the bicycle and motorcycle collided head-on.

The motorbike driver was transported to Lydenburg Hospital. The name of the deceased cyclist has not been made public by the Lydenburg police yet.
