Gauteng man stoned to death for allegedly raping teenager

Information is sought to arrest those responsible for the murder of a man who reportedly raped a 15-year-old girl.

A 34-year-old man was assaulted and stoned to death, allegedly by an angry mob, after he reportedly raped a 15-year-old girl at Ekuthuleni informal settlement in Ekurhuleni last Sunday morning.

It is alleged the man knocked at the girl’s home and when she inquired about his identity he told her that he was with her aunt.

The girl allegedly peeped through a hole in the door and identified that the man was alone and she refused to open it.

Kwa-Thema police spokesperson Sergeant Nkululeko Magudulela told African Reporter that the man then reportedly kicked the door open and forced himself inside the house.

“He allegedly assaulted the teenager and dragged her to the open veld near Lifa Ifa Secondary School where he repeatedly raped her.”

The victim told her mother and the community was alerted about the incident and a manhunt ensued. The man was found and then allegedly assaulted by the mob.

Magudulela confirmed that the man’s penis was mutilated with an unknown instrument. He added that police are investigating cases of rape and murder.

“No one has been arrested and we are urging anyone with information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward,” he concluded.
