Woman drowns in pool on KZN North Coast

She was found in the pool by other residents in the complex.

A 67-year-old Westbrook woman drowned in a complex pool yesterday afternoon after reportedly swimming laps.

Medi Response, attending to the scene, reports that fellow residents of the complex found the woman in the pool.

She was unresponsive and residents alerted emergency personnel to the fact while removing the woman from the pool and starting chest compressions.

“Despite the best efforts of bystanders and advanced life support meds, the woman was declared dead,” Medi Response spokesperson, Paul Herbst says.

Herbst says the woman had suffered from a history of known health issues.
