2 men found shot dead next to road near Dundee in KZN

Officials had to console the distraught mother of one of the victims and remove her from the scene.

The bodies of two men who had been shot dead were this morning found alongside the Dundee/Vryheid road, between Dundee Secondary School and Talana Museum.

SAPS are on the scene and traffic officials have closed that section of the Dundee/Vryheid road while members from the SAPS forensic unit combed the area for spent cartridges and other clues that may lead to the motive behind the shooting.

Traffic to and from Dundee/Vryheid is presently being diverted through Peacevale. The road R33 should be re-opened later in the morning

A distraught woman, believed to be the mother of one of the victims, had to be removed from the scene by officials.

Police said it appears as if both the men are from Dundee. Residents who live in Peacevale told the Northern Natal Courier that four gunshots were heard at around 03:00 this morning.

Police said more details would be released once they become available.
