Load-shedding suspended until Monday afternoon

South Africans will be pleased to know that load-shedding will not impact the screening of the Rugby World Cup match against France tonight.

Due to stable generation capacity, with breakdowns at 13 158MW and planned maintenance at 6 051MW of generation capacity, Eskom says load-shedding will remain suspended until 16:00 on Monday.

Thereafter, the following will apply:

  • Stage 2 load-shedding: From 16:00 on Monday until 05:00 on Tuesday.
  • Load-shedding will be suspended from 05:00 to 16:00 on Tuesday.
  • Stage 2 will be implemented from 16:00 on Tuesday until 05:00 on Wednesday.

This pattern will be repeated daily until further notice. Eskom will communicate should any significant changes occur.
