A case of murder has been opened after two people were shot dead outside the Randburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that a man and a woman were shot and killed, as they were approaching the court.

The victims were certified dead at the scene, and a case of murder has been opened.

The motivation for the murders is not yet known.

A manhunt has been initiated by the police for the shooters, who were driving a black Mercedes-Benz.

Authorities are calling on the community to come forward with any information that may assist in solving the case.
