Zahara admitted to Johannesburg hospital

Social media has been flooded with messages of support, prayers and well-wishes.

Social media users are wishing South African singer-songwriter Bulelwa Mkutukana, known as Zahara, well after it was made known the Phendula hitmaker had been admitted to hospital.

Her family and team took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a statement on her health.

“Zahara has been admitted to the hospital for a week following complaints about physical pains. The doctors are working diligently and we await further updates from them,” the statement reads.

The statement adds they are concerned that, despite her hospitalisation being a confidential matter, ‘disingenuous information’ has been spread on the internet.

“We want to stress that any reliable information regarding Zahara’s health will be communicated via her official social media platforms or by herself.”

The statement expressed gratitude for the support shown by Zahara’s fans.
