Nigerian to appear in court for murdering fellow countryman in Parys

A Nigerian businessman who owned a laundromat in Parys was shot and killed on Thursday.

A Nigerian national will appear in the Parys Magistrate’s Court on Monday to face a charge of murder after shooting the 40-year-old Moses Jimoh, also from Nigeria, in Parys. Jimoh owned a laundromat in the town.

Local police say they are on the hunt for at least five more foreign nationals who they believe were involved in murdering Jimoh on Thursday in Viljoen Street.

Jimoh died on the scene of the shooting, in the town’s CBD, after he was shot in the chest and neck.

It is believed that the murder followed a fight over a business transaction. Four shots were fired whereafter the suspects fled the scene in Mercedes and Hyundai vehicles.

The suspect that will appear in court tomorrow also resides in Parys.
