The Mbombela-based Hawks is calling on the public for information on the whereabouts of Blessing Fakude.

The KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court in the Ehlanzeni District in Mpumalanga has issued a warrant for the arrest of Blessing Fakude, who is one of two suspects in the murder of off-duty police officer Captain Sibusiso Mthombothi (44).

Mthombothi was shot and killed at a car wash in KaNyamazane on January 13.

Another man, Jacky Sibusiso Ntiwane (35), was arrested in KaNyamazane on March 20, and appeared in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court on March 22, facing charges of murder.

Ntiwane appeared again on April 4 for a formal bail application, but he abandoned his bail and the matter was postponed to May 10 for further investigation.

The provincial Hawks’ head, Major General Nico Gerber, is urging Fakude to come forward. He also appeals to the community for any information regarding the whereabouts of Fakude.

Should you have any information, contact Captain Mduduzi Comfort Mkhonza on 082 304 0052 or Lieutenant Colonel Erhard Ströh on 082 300 8315. All information received will be treated confidentially.
