6 teenage boys arrested after man’s murder in Free State
A 25-year-old man's motionless body was discovered at a house in Somerspos, Zamdela.
Six teenage boys, aged between 16 and 19, were arrested after a murder in Somerspost Street, Zamdela, Sasolburg, in the Free State.
According to police spokesperson Josephine Rani, the Zamdela police received a complaint on Sunday at around 00:30, about an unknown male who was assaulted and left lying on the ground at a house in Somerspos.
“The police proceeded to the identified house, and on arrival, they found a 25-year-old male lying on the ground – motionless. The deceased sustained head injuries and was declared dead by the emergency services,” adds Rani.
She says there was initially no lead as to who the suspects were, but that through thorough investigation, the police received information and ultimately traced suspects.
“The police followed the information, and all six suspects were found at a shack in Somerspos and arrested [them]. The suspects will appear before the Sasolburg Magistrate’s Court today on the murder charges.”
