Cop found dead in car at Isipingo Beach

Events leading up to a police officer’s death are under police investigation.

Police are investigating the events that led to the death by shooting of a police officer at Isipingo Beach in KZN this morning.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says a call was received at 11:30.

The victim was a female, believed to be in her 30s, he says.

“When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the police already in attendance and were shown to a vehicle where they found a woman unresponsive. She showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on the scene by ALS Paramedics,” says Jamieson.

The victim was found sitting in the driver’s seat and it is not known if there was another person involved in the shooting or if she was by herself, he adds.

The silver Kia Picanto she was found in had Mpumalanga number plates.

“At this stage the events leading up to the shooting are unknown, however, the police will be investigating,” he says.
