Authorities responded to a disturbing discovery near the Old Middelburg Road in eMalahleni this morning, where a man initially feared a human body had been dumped in a river.

He noticed what appeared to be clothing in Spookspruit River on the R555, and promptly alerted the police.

Upon investigation, Captain Eddie Hall confirmed that the object in question was not a human body.

“It was a dress with a chicken and money that was dumped in the dam,” Hall said.
