Body of former police union member found in his car in Sundra
A man was found dead in his car after family members sought assistance from a tracking company to locate his vehicle.
A murder investigation is underway after the body of Nkosinathi Theledi, a 61-year-old former general secretary of the Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union, was discovered inside his vehicle in Sundra on Thursday.
The investigation was initiated after members of the SAPS came across information suggesting foul play.
According to reports, the victim left his home in Gauteng on July 31 and was going to Standerton. Concerned family members tried to contact him but were unsuccessful.
He was reported missing by the Norkem Park Police and his family sought assistance from a car tracker service provider, which led to the victim’s vehicle being found in Sundra.
Theledi was certified dead at the scene.
According to the Sundra police’s preliminary investigation, the victim’s two cellphones, watch and shoes were missing.
Theledi’s body showed signs of physical trauma, including bruises and evidence of bleeding.
