State to pursue premeditated murder charge against Kempton Park woman

Denise Hattingh is accused of killing 29-year-old Markus Greeff on May 15 at a property on West Street in Pomona.

Former Kempton Park hairdresser Denise Hattingh, accused of murder, appeared in the Kempton Park Regional Court this morning.

Hattingh was 28 when she was arrested, but it could not be confirmed she’s had her birthday since then.

During today’s proceedings, the court was informed that the state had finalised its investigation.

The state further indicated its intention to proceed with charges of premeditated murder against Hattingh, while her defence requested the court to consider a lesser charge.

The matter was postponed to November 11, and Hattingh was remanded in custody.

Hattingh is accused of killing 29-year-old Markus Greeff on May 15 at a property on West Street, Pomona. She was arrested on May 16 after police issued a lookout for her in connection with Greeff’s murder the previous night.
