Alleged KZN ‘gang members’ to appear in court

The KZN provincial commissioner will attend the court case of alleged gang members who have been linked to multiple crimes, including 11 murders.

The young men arrested for allegedly flashing firearms and shooting randomly into the air at KwaMashu Hostel in KZN, as seen in a viral video, are set to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court this morning.

KZN Police Spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda confirmed that provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi will attend the court case.

“The suspects have been linked to multiple crimes, including 11 murders, eight attempted murders, three hijackings, two truck jackings, two house robberies, and two armed robberies in various KwaMashu areas, including along the Dumisani Makhaye highway,” Netshiunda says.

The KwaMashu Serious and Violent Crime detectives worked tirelessly to connect the suspects to these crimes, says Netshiunda.
