Video: Victim’s safety questioned as 4 Vosman kidnapping suspects get bail
Senzo Bongwe was reunited with his family, but his mother has raised safety concerns after the suspects in his kidnapping case were granted bail.
Following a march at Vosman Police Station, eMalahleni, for #justiceforsenzo, who had been missing for over three weeks, Senzo Bongwe (28) was reunited with his family.
Four suspects were arrested, and a case of kidnapping and assault was opened at the station following Bongwe’s disappearance.
“The four suspects were detained in connection with the case on Monday,” Captain Vusi Mnisi explains.
The suspects appeared in the Witbank Magistrate’s Court yesterday. They were released on bail and instructed to report to Vosman Police Station daily until their next court appearance on January 21.
According to Mnisi, renewed efforts in the investigation led to critical leads regarding Bongwe’s location on Sunday.

Khanyisile, his mother, gained the support of many after she detailed the harrowing experience of waiting for her missing son, at Vosman Police Station, on social media. She was present in court.
She could not contain her tears after learning her son’s alleged perpetrators would be released from custody.
“They kidnapped and nearly killed my boy, but today they get to walk as free men. What about my son’s safety and fear of these animals? I don’t know what to do. Should I relocate my son until the next court date? How will I know that he is safe here with these men walking freely?” Bongwe cried.
