Armed men rob KZN cellphone store

Verulam SAPS is investigating an armed robbery that took place at a cellphone store inside a shopping mall.

A shopping mall in Cornubia, KZN, looked just like a scene from an action movie this morning when four armed men entered a cellphone store and stole numerous devices.

According to KZN VIP Protection Services, the gunmen entered the store after 09:30, wearing Huawei uniforms. They then produced firearms and held up the employees.

“An undisclosed amount of valuables was taken.

“The suspects fled in a white VW Polo hatchback, registration unconfirmed. No injuries were reported,” said KZN VIP Protection Services in a Facebook post this morning.

An incident report from Mzansi Secure, circulating on social media, indicated that the robbers instructed the store manager to open the safe and an undisclosed number of cellphones were stolen.

The robbery is being investigated by Verulam SAPS.
