Western Cape man’s child porn case postponed

A Bothastrand man’s child pornography case has been postponed for pre-trial conference after his latest court appearance.

The case against a 45-year-old man from Bothastrand, just outside Great Brak River, charged with the possession of child pornography, has been postponed to February 26.

Mossel Bay Advertiser previously reported that the man was arrested in May 2023 at his luxury home that he shares with his mother.

The arrest came after investigators came across sexually explicit videos and images, allegedly of children, and babies.

These videos and images were allegedly found on the man’s electronic devices.

He appeared in the Mossel Bay Regional Court yester, where the case was postponed for a pre-trial conference. He is currently out on bail of R5 000.
