Gauteng tavern dispute turns deadly: 2 killed

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two men who allegedly got into a fight outside a tavern.

Sebokeng police are investigating a double murder after two men, aged 37 and 39, were murdered in Zone 10 in Sebokeng, Gauteng, early yesterday morning.

Sedibeng Ster reports that the men were drinking at Faida’s tavern and had an argument.

Both were ordered to leave the premises, and while they were outside the tavern, a fight erupted.

One of the men allegedly stabbed the other in the upper body several times. A few seconds later, the suspect who stabbed the deceased was shot several times by an unknown gunman who fled the scene.

“Both males were declared dead on the scene by Emergency Medical Services and taken to Forensic Pathology Services.

“The cause of the stabbing and shooting is unknown… Police plead with the public to assist with any information that may help with investigations,” says Sergeant Nthabiseng Mokhachane.

Anyone who has information that could assist with the investigation is urged to contact Sebokeng SAPS on 082 498 9563. Alternatively, call 112, 10111, 08600 10111 or report information via the MySAPS App.
