Ozzy Osbourne passes away

The family of the musician, known as ‘the godfather of heavy metal,’ announced that he passed away ‘surrounded by love.’

Ozzy Osbourne of the legendary band Black Sabbath has passed away just weeks after his farewell performance in the UK.

His family announced his death on social media saying: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.”

Osbourne (76) reunited and performed with Black Sabbath at a ‘Back to the Beginning’ concert in Villa Park in Birmingham in the UK a few weeks ago. The concert served as Osbourne’s farewell performance.

He could not stand so he performed sitting on a throne. X user TMC Music Connoisseur said about his performance that ‘he couldn’t stand anymore but still captivated every single person in the audience,’ in a tribute on the social media platform.

Sky News reports that Osbourne, full name John Michael Osbourne, was born on December 3, 1948, in Aston, Birmingham.

Other than his music career with Black Sabbath, he also enjoyed a successful solo career and was known as the godfather of heavy metal.

He was also part of the popular reality TV show ‘The Osbournes,’ showcasing his family, on MTV.
