Residents of an apartment complex in Pinetown, KZN, were left shaken following a fatal drive-by shooting yesterday before noon.

It was reported that a man was shot outside the gate of an apartment complex on Bamboo Lane in Pinetown, according to an article published by Highway Mail.

ALS Paramedics’ Garrith Jamieson said the man was killed just after 11:20.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS already in attendance, with the road closed off. Paramedics were shown to a man who had been shot numerous times on the side of the road. Paramedics assessed the man, believed to be in his 50s, however, he showed no signs of life and was declared deceased on the scene.

“At this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown; however, SAPS will be investigating further,” said Jamieson.

It was reported that the man had multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body and that the suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

At the time of publishing, KZN SAPS spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda had yet to confirm the shooting.
