Parys police appeal for information after casino robbery
Detectives are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the suspect who tied up employees and stole cash during a business robbery in Parys.
Parys detectives are seeking assistance from the public to trace the suspects involved in a business robbery that occurred in Parys yesterday.
It is alleged that on Friday, at about 09:15, a male and two female employees of the Chillnett Internet Cafe/Casino, arrived at the business premises in Father Balink Street, Parys Gazette reports.
As they entered the store, the male employee was forced into the store by an unknown male speaking Sesotho and IsiZulu, who held a metal object which felt like a firearm to his neck, says police spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani.
Rani says upon entering, the male employee was tied up with cable ties and placed at the back bathroom, while the two ladies were taken to the office where they were also tied up with cable ties.
The suspect managed to open the safe, take an undisclosed amount of cash, and fled the scene on foot, leaving the three employees locked in the store until they were able to call for help.
The Parys police request that anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts to contact Detective Warrant Officer Brian Van Rensberg on 082 466 8094, or Crime Stop on 08600 10111 alternatively submit an anonymous tip-off via MySAPS App.
