Man’s body found at Gauteng cemetery

Police are appealing to the public for information after a man with multiple injuries was found dead in Evaton.

The Evaton Police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a man, identified as an Ethiopian national, was found at the Evaton Cemetery yesterday (May 21), reports Sedibeng Ster.

Officers received a call regarding the discovery at around 10:00.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found the deceased wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.

 According to police spokesperson Constable Thulisile Msibi, the deceased had suffered multiple injuries.

“It looks like he was murdered somewhere and dragged there where he was found,” said Msibi.

Msibi added that the victim is not known to anyone in the local neighbourhood. No arrests have been made as the suspects remain unknown at this stage.

The police are appealing to anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact the Evaton SAPS on 08600 10111.
