A KZN community is reeling after a roadside shooting last night left one person dead and two others hospitalised.
A woman was shot and killed while a child travelling with her sustained minor injuries and was left severely traumatised during a shooting on Blackburn Road in Parkhill, Durban North, last night (July 12).
Northglen News reports that Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell said the company’s Emergency Dispatch Centre received reports of multiple gunshots being fired in the area at about 17:45.
“Marshall Security Armed Response Officers and members of our Special Operations Team responded immediately. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was found deceased inside her vehicle,” said Powell.
He said a child was also found inside the vehicle.

Paramedics were then alerted that two other people had been injured as well. “A delivery biker was struck while driving past the scene. He had stopped down the road and paramedics stabilised the man before transporting him to hospital,” he added.
Jamieson said a child had also sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for further care.
“The injured motorcyclist is receiving medical treatment from Netcare 911,” said Jamieson.
Marshall Security secured the scene while members of Greenwood Park Police Station, Metro Police and Netcare 911 attended to the incident. The motive for the shooting is under investigation by the SAPS.
