Men arrested after N12 stop uncovers rhino horns

Two suspects are expected to appear in the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court after police allegedly found rhino horns, rifles and ammunition in their vehicle.

Two men are expected to appear in court soon following their arrest after police discovered rhino horns, two rifles, and rounds of ammunition in their vehicle during a late-night patrol on the N12 near Ogies on Tuesday (July 22), reports Witbank News.

According to the police, members of the Middelburg Flying Squad stopped a silver Toyota Etios at about 23:45.

Upon searching the car, they uncovered two rhino horns hidden under a jacket, along with two rifles and rounds of ammunition. ​

The suspects were taken into custody and are expected to appear in the Emalahleni Magistrate’s Court soon.
