Germiston police seize R500 000 in explosives
A suspect faces court after officers uncovered thousands of blasting cartridges and detonating cords during a weekend raid in Gauteng.
Crime Intelligence officers have uncovered explosives worth an estimated R500 000 hidden in a residential back room in Hazelpark, Germiston.
According to The Witness, police searched the property yesterday (August 29), following information about explosive materials allegedly stored on the premises.
A search of the property led to explosive material being discovered concealed in a back room.
Officers seized 4 483 blasting cartridges and 21 detonating cords during the operation.
A suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
